PROJECT GOAL

The primary objective of the redesign was to simplify the user experience while maintaining the complexity required in financial management systems. The redesign aimed to improve readability, organize workflows more clearly, reduce cognitive overload, and establish a scalable design system that could support future product growth. Another key focus was creating a more professional and modern visual direction that aligns with the expectations of contemporary SaaS platforms.

PROBLEM

The original AcuSheet interface contained several usability and structural issues that made the platform feel overwhelming and outdated. Information hierarchy was inconsistent, important financial data lacked emphasis, and navigation across modules such as Sales, Purchases, Expenses, and Accounting felt fragmented. Tables and dashboard components displayed large amounts of data without proper prioritization, making it difficult for users to quickly understand the current state of their business. The platform also lacked scalable design patterns, empty states, and clear feedback interactions, resulting in a less intuitive user experience.

RESEARCH

The redesign process began with analyzing the existing platform structure and identifying usability pain points across the dashboard, navigation system, tables, and forms. A detailed audit revealed issues such as inconsistent spacing, weak visual hierarchy, crowded layouts, and unclear module grouping. Particular attention was given to how users interact with financial data, invoices, expenses, and accounting workflows, which helped define a more organized information architecture for the redesign.

DASHBOARD

The dashboard was redesigned to provide users with a clearer overview of their business performance and financial health. Key metrics such as revenue, expenses, cash on hand, and profit were elevated through simplified KPI cards, while charts and data visualizations were reorganized to improve readability. The activity section was restructured into categorized operational tabs including Sales, Purchases, Expenses, and Accounting, allowing users to monitor recent transactions more efficiently and reducing the clutter found in the original design.

OUTCOME

The redesign transformed AcuSheet into a cleaner and more structured financial management platform that balances operational complexity with modern usability standards. By improving navigation, simplifying workflows, and enhancing data readability, the new experience creates a stronger foundation for scalability while making accounting and financial management feel more approachable for users.
